If you haven’t already noticed, the Sneaky Plays podcast has upped the ante, now putting out two episodes each week. Tuesday’s are slotted for MLB talk with me and Joe Duffy, while Dom Fierro and Chris Morris engage in NBA, NCAAM and NFL discussions on Thursday’s.

The new format allows us to cover more topics and narrow in on important details.

On this week’s MLB episode, Joe and I break down the NL East for the upcoming 2019 season and make predictions for each team.

Here’s what we came up with:

  • The Miami Marlins are not putting a good product out on the diamond this season and will be in the running for the worst record in baseball. Our players to watch are Brian Anderson and Peter O’Brien.
  • The Atlanta Braves made an incredible run last year and was certainly not a fluke. Don’t be surprised when if you see them in the playoffs. Our players to watch are Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuña Jr.
  • In typical New York Mets fashion, they made good, but not great offseason moves. Their additions simply won’t be enough to handle the bruising NL East. Our player to watch is Brandon Nimmo.
  • With an offseason to envy, the Philadelphia Phillies are officially a powerhouse in the National League. With a solid rotation and a dynamite lineup, they have a legitimate shot at World Series contention. Our players to watch are Seranthony Dominguez and Maikel Franco.
  • The Washington Nationals were a slight disappointment last year and the loss of Bryce Harper to a divisional foe certainly adds fuel to the fire. But with the additions of Patrick Corbin to the rotation and Brian Dozier to the lineup, they can still make a serious playoff push. Our players to watch are Victor Robles and Juan Soto.

Dom and Morris cover a wide range of topics in this week’s episode and provide some flamin’ hot takes.

Here’s what they discussed:

  • Case Keenum to the Washington Redskins is an underrated move.
  • The New York Giants should have found a way to hold onto Landon Collins.
  • Eric Weddle to Los Angeles? What are the Baltimore Ravens doing?
  • The Tampa Bay Bucs and Baltimore Ravens could be dark horses in Le’Veon Bell free agent talks.
  • “What are you doing, LeBron?” – Dom
  • The NBA ROY competition is going to come down to Trae Young and Luka Doncic.
  • March is officially the best time of the year.
  • Tennessee stood out and made a statement against Kentucky, but are a candidate to get knocked off early come tournament time.
  • Zion Williamson sitting this weekend is smart for Duke.
  • If Georgetown can go into Marquette and win, don’t write them off for an NCAA Tournament bid.
  • Seton Hall-Villanova matchup has more seeding implications than you’d think.
